The Procurement Technical Assistance Center’s (PTAC) mission is to strengthen Minnesota’s economy by stimulating job creation, growth, and business retention. To accomplish this goal, the PTAC assists businesses in securing government contracts.

Using market identification, registration assistance, contracting regulations/compliance assistance and on-going technical support, PTAC helps businesses navigate through the complicated and difficult intricacies of obtaining federal, state and local government contracts. Staff are located throughout the state and the program operates on a client fee basis.

Since 1991, PTAC has contributed to the growth of its clients and Minnesota's economy by providing counseling and procurement technical assistance of the highest quality and relevancy. In March 1999, The Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (APTAC) named MN PTAC as the Outstanding Center of the Year. In the 2006-2007 federal fiscal year, PTAC worked with 887 companies throughout Minnesota, sponsored 49 workshops on various government topics, provided assistance to 378 new companies and follow-up counseling with 2,545 sessions. This assistance helped these companies in securing $355 million in awards. These impressive achievements are the result of superior counseling and training provided to clients by PTAC.
